Ironwood is a rules-light, highly asymmetric tactical card game for 1–2 players, set in a land contested by the industrial Ironclad and the mysterious Woodwalkers.
Each round, players alternate playing three faction-specific cards to move warbands, initiate combat, extract Larimor Crystals, and trigger special abilities. When combat begins, those same cards become combat values in a simultaneous bid for bonuses, casualties, and Dominance.
The two factions play completely differently, with unique decks, abilities, victory conditions, and access to different parts of the map.
- Ironclad: Extract crystals, establish forge foundations, and build three Forges to win.
- Woodwalkers: Use Vision cards to locate ancient totems, defeat Ironclad warbands blocking the way, and secure three Totems to summon the Guardian and win.
Ironwood also includes a low-upkeep solo mode, with distinct opponents that capture the unique character of each faction.
