The Trojan War has begun, and Hector of the Trojans and Achilles of the Greeks are each seeking the favor of the gods to gain an advantage. Only one hero will emerge victorious and become the legend of the Iliad.
Iliad is a two-player tile-placement strategy game from renowned designer Reiner Knizia. On your turn, choose one of two tiles from your hand and place it onto the board adjacent to one of your opponent’s tiles. Both players have identical sets of tiles, with strengths ranging from 1–5, along with the Dolos tile, which can mimic your opponent’s adjacent tiles.
The key to victory lies in deciding where and when to commit your tiles. Each tile also has an ability that can be activated when it is placed, giving you opportunities to strengthen your position or disrupt your opponent’s plans.
Compete for the favor of the gods while claiming Success tokens and pursuing your victory objectives. Will you focus on success in the war, or work to please the gods? With a variable board setup and simple gameplay built around difficult decisions, every game of Iliad offers a different strategic challenge.
